The upper surface has a cream colored base with a light blue border around the edge. A small angel child is in the center, wearing a star-spangled robe and little gold wings. She is clutching a lit candle and looking to the moon above. "Christmas 1971" is written in gold across the bottom. This Schmid original comes with its original box and was made in West Germany. The back provides the following explanation about the artistry: "The 1971 Christmas edition of a series portraying the authentic works of Sister Berta Hummel."
