This is a beautiful antique china, large soup plate (bowl). It's a John Ridgway piece that wasmade in England circa 1830-1841. This soup plate features the coveted Pomerania pattern in black coloring. This pattern features a European Scene depicting two women and a dog out for a walk near the water. There are buildings, towers and a sailboat in the background scenery as well as a herd of sheep.
This soup bowl is shallow with a large, very generous scalloped rim. The European scene is placed in the center of the bowl. Around the rim there is a gorgeous floral pattern. This is an absolutely gorgeous display piece and would make a key piece in anyones collection.
This piece is in very good condition for it's age. There is some smudging in the colors and some dark spots here and there on the white china backdrop. The back has some blemishes in color. Please see pictures for a true feel of the condition.
